Chrome Extensions

If you are using Chrome as your browser, you can beef it up by adding different extensions that help increase productivity or offer shortcuts for tasks.  There is a huge library of extensions you can download found here . Just one that I want to point out today is GMAIL CHECKER . If you are used to using the postage stamp on your desktop, this can be your easy transition to going away from the stamp and checking mail in your browser. This extension will add a simple icon in the top right of your Chrome window. It will post notifications when you get emails and you can view and reply to emails quickly using this extension. You won't need to leave your email open in a tab, because this extension will notify you and let you know how many emails you have in your inbox. Google Docs & Slides Tip

Happy Homecoming week everyone! Today’s  tip  is a helpful hint for  Google Docs  and  Slides . If you are creating a new document or editing an old one  and you need more information or want to ea sily add  images, you can select the  Explore  option under the  Tools  menu inside the Google apps. This will open up a small sidebar where you can search the web, search images, and search your personal Google Drive.  You can do all this while never leaving the document you are working with. The  image  search is powerful because you can just drag and drop images straight into your document from the Explore bar. Watch this  video  if you want a visual explanation.   If you have any other questions, have items you think need to be shared as  tips , or you want me to help figure out a way to do something, feel free to send the questions my way. Thanks for all you guys do! Daniel Knox dknox@goodpasture.org
