Turn Yourself into an Animated Emoji: By Sarah Burton

If you are a  Bitmoji  fan then you will LOVE these animated emojis you can make with the free iOS app,  Emoji Me Face Maker . They also have a  kid-friendly version 😋 Your personalized emojis COME TO LIFE! Customize your emoji, choose a theme and the app will export your image as an animated gif like these below:         There are in-app purchases but a lot of really cute themes come with the free version! How Does This Relate to the Classroom? A few years ago I wrote a post about  Bitmojis being the  new  digital sticker . Now we can create animated stickers to add to student work that is completed in Google Drive. It is also fun to add a personal  animated  touch to your presentations like this example below: I have even added my gifs to my  Poll Everywhere polls ! One day when you are bored, sit down and make a bunch of different animated emojis and export them. ...

Schoology and Google Drive: By Amanda Cross

Tech tip 2 for this week is how Schoology and Google Drive can connect and work together.  Below is a link on how you can connect your Google Drive to your Schoology account and also in that link it shows how you can add files from your Google Drive into an assignment on Schoology.  As we are using Google Drive more and more this is a great way to connect it to Schoology.  If you have any questions or need help on how to connect the two please let me know.  I hope everyone has a great week!   How to connect Google Drive to Schoology

Flippity By: Renae Bixenman

Google Programs (Docs, Sheet, and Slides) allow for add-ons that enhance each program. One of my favorites is Flippity!!  Flippity has several templates for you to choose from to create fun activities in your classroom.  Reviewing for a test with your students and want to make a review game??  They have templates (with instructions) to create a Bingo game, Memory game, Word Search, or Trivia Game Show. Two of my favorite templates on Flippity are the Flash Cards and the Random Name Picker.  If you are interested I would be more than happy to set it up for you and help you get started!! https://www.flippity.net/

Speeding up YouTube Videos: By Amanda Cross

Good evening!  Here is your tech tip 2 for this Tuesday.  Have you ever previewed a video on   youtube   and just wish that you could speed it up or sometimes you skip a few parts because you are in a hurry.  Well, there is a setting to where you can change the speed of the video.  Below is a partial picture of a   youtube   video:  To change speeds just click on the gear icon located in the right-hand corner, then click on speed, and finally, you can adjust your speed from slower to faster.   I hope that helps you save some time in previewing videos for your classroom.

Emoji's (and other special characters) in Google Docs By: Daniel Knox

Sometimes our students communicate in emoji's. You might want to insert some into a document, so here is a quick tutorial on emoji's.  Insert >> Special Characters opens up tons of options including emojis but also many other symbols.  You can search for a symbol or emoji by simply searching for a word or by literally drawing what you want (see GIF).  Let me know if you need help with anything or if you are wondering how to accomplish something in your class using Google tools. Have a great week.
